Over seventeen years ago, Lan Vu, founder and CEO
of BEAUTYSTREAMS was sitting in a sales meeting of
a fashion forecasting platform when she heard a claim
that stopped her in her tracks: that beauty trends
“emerge from fashion.” In that moment, she recognized
a deeper issue - not about hierarchy, but about
understanding. The beauty industry operates on its
own logic: science, regulation, supply chains, cultural
nuance, and powerful emotional drivers. Reducing it to
an offshoot missed the complexity entirely.
That realization led her to build BEAUTYSTREAMS - a
platform dedicated exclusively to beauty intelligence.
No category dilution. No generalized lifestyle lens. Just
vertical depth.
Over time, that commitment expanded. Non-profit
Openstreams Foundation extended the model from
intelligence to structured global dialogue - including
convening industry leaders at the United Nations
to address systemic topics such as age anxiety and
demographic reality. With the launch of BEAUTYNEXOS,
the next phase focuses on infrastructure - connecting
professionals, aggregating data, and strengthening
the global ecosystem.
