A FAMILY STORY AND A HERITAGE OF LOVE

Roberto Marafatto, an internationally-known “nose”, created many
successful fragrances for the global market, but also a private collection
of unique creations which were exclusively for his family. This precious
inheritance of knowledge, method and vision has been given new life
and brought into the world of artistic perfumery by his descendants,
first his daughter Sara and more recently his grandson, Alessandro.
Roberto Marafatto described his family and his company like a majestic
tree, with “deep roots, planted in the values, a strong trunk, capable of
resisting the winds of change, they feed on the soil and water of experience,
the branches are welcoming and open arms. And the fruit they offer is not
only for itself but for everyone who chooses to be part of it.”

Roberto Marafatto’s creative genius led to the introduction of olfactory
barrique, where wood is not only a container for the essences, but
a co-creator. Made from fine woods, each type of wood releases
unique notes, like vanilla, caramel or spices, adding complex nuances
which can be sweet, fruity or smoky. A key step of preparing the
olfactory barriques is the caramelizing of the wood, which allows the
development of aromatic compounds. The ageing in barriques adds
further elements to the fragrance enriching it with new sensory levels.
